Clinical Trials

A clinical trial is a research study that tests whether new drugs or treatments are safe and effective, or tests new ways of using known treatments. Researchers are often looking for volunteers to participate in clinical trails; volunteers can benefit by gaining access to new treatments before they are widely available. Provides information on thousands of federally and privately supported clinical trials for a wide range of diseases and conditions. Users may search for trials by choosing specific diseases and conditions or study sponsors, or entering keywords, a location, and/or treatment. Sponsored by the National Institutes of Health.
NIH Clinical Center.
Allows users to search by diagnosis and symptom for nearly 1,000 clinical trials that are taking place at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. The site is sponsored by the Warren Grant Magnuson Clinical Center, the research hospital of the National Institutes of Health.

A guide to frequently asked questions about the costs of clinical trials and health insurance coverage of clinical trials. Describes strategies for dealing with financial barriers to participation in a trial. Sponsored by the National Cancer Institute.
